MAKING AT BENCHMARK

At Benchmark, details of the table and chairs were shaped using a woodturner. The seat and backrest of the chairs were curved to provide comfort and then glued together with a mortise and tenon joint. Individual components were made from boards that are glued together and CNC machined to create a curve and the edges were sanded by hand. The large, untreated surfaces of the tabletop and chairs showcase the strong grain of the red oak.
