U.S. Hardwood Exports to SEA Sets Record Yet GRCH Market Drops
The overall value of hardwood exports to SEA & GRCH market was slightly increased at 1.3% in the first 3 quarters in 2018 compared to the same period in 2017 and reached $1.83 billion.The SEA & GRCH markets accounted for 60.2% of all global exports. Greater China market started to show negative growth since 2016 at 0.2% (YoY) to over $1.56 billion.

2018 Mid Year Review: U.S. Hardwood Exports to SEA & GRCH Grow Amid Trade Negotiation Concerns
The exports of American hardwood to SEA & GRCH recorded gains in the first half of 2018 in spite of the ongoing trade negotiations between the U.S. and China.The value of all US harwood products to SEA and GRCH was US$1.33 billion through June, up 11.4%(YoY).The SEA & GRCH markets accounted for 62% of all global exports.

June 22, 2018, Xian, China – The American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC) 23rd Southeast Asia and Greater China Convention was successfully held at The Westin Xian Hotel today. The convention co-organized by Shaanxi Province Furniture Association and Xian Furniture Association and the support of over 30 industry associations from Southeast Asia and Greater China.

US Hardwood Exports to SEA & GRCH Market Reaches Record High in Q1 2018
Admidst the trade dispute between China and U.S., the hardwood exports to SEA & GRCH rallied and exceeded the historic high compare to the same period of time in the past few years. Fueled by the strong performance of Mainland China and Vietnam market, the exports value to SEA & GRCH markets was over $644 million, rose 12.8% (YoY) and set a new record in Q1 of 2018.

AHEC hosted a pavilion of sized 1990sqm at the Hall 15.1 at Interzum Guangzhou 2018. There were 29 companies exhibited their product offering including AHEC and National Harwood Lumber Association(NHLA). In the evening of Mar 28, AHEC co-organized a reception with ATO GZ to welcome AHEC members, Chinese traders, associations and trade media.

After reaching to the summit in 2017, the hardwood exports to SEA & GRCH cooled down in the first month of 2018 but bounced back in Feb 2018. The exports value to SEA & GRCH markets was $408 million, rose 9.3% compared to the first 2 months of 2017, which accounted for nearly 62% of all global exports.

The global export value of US hardwood to SEA & GRCH ended high and set a new record in 2017. The exports value to SEA & GRCH was $2.4 billion in 2017, surged 26.5% compared to 2016.This region accounted for 61.3% of the global exports value of American hardwood ($3.99 billion, grew 13.7% upon comparing to 2016)
